The CH25 Lounge Chair, like many of Hans J. Wegner’s iconic designs, is clean and simple in its distinctive shape. Designed in 1950, this chair takes a skilled craftsman 10 hours and approximately 400 meters of paper cord to complete one seat and backrest by hand, using a technique called weaving. This exceptional design is also uncommonly comfortable and the perfect piece for a reading room, bedroom or any area where you can relax for hours on end.
Wegner was enthusiastic about the look of the paper cord materials, a replacement for seagrass developed during WWII, and a material that had not been used in furniture before.
